30TH ANNIVERSARY

Hi to all,

The committee have booked all Activities for this years camp and will be meeting with the management team of Bay Park on SUNDAY 22nd May at 11.00am, this will be o improve any Activities and what we would like to have done prior to our camp in November. If you would like to join us or have any suggestions please send me an Email

The 30th Anniversary Woggles are expected to arrive by the middle of May so that the troops who have paid the $100.00 Registration fee will have them posted out so that the scouts can wear them. Leaders please fill in the Registration Form and return with your $100.00 deposit and numbers attending.

I received a call from Bay Park recently to notify us that the shed that had our NEW BMX Bikes stored has been broken into and bikes gone AGAIN!!!! Unfortunately insurance does not cover us again. (That's 8 bikes in about 12 months).


I am changing to Broadband at work so will be changing Email soon, will inform you ASAP

We had our first organizing meeting on Sunday night at Jon's home.
We discussed ways of making our 30th Gilweroo the camp to remember for your scouts?

Saturday Night Spectacular. Movie to follow Disco with hopeful special star to attend!!!!!
We are discussing some new Activities also

If there is any Leader wishing to nominate to run and set up an activity also supply a team of staff to run it for the weekend please let me know.

Chris is looking into designing a special woggle to celebrate our 30th year; we hope that these will be available by mid year so that the Scouts will be able to wear them to promote our Camp. (These will be delivered after the troop deposit of $100.00 is paid with number of scouts to attend)

The Organising Team is meeting with the Bay Park Committee to discuss improvements to camp sites and Activities, if you have any ideas or would like to join us at 10.00am on Sunday 27th please let me know for lunch catering.

Costing for this year will be $30.00 per scout and $10.00 for Activity leaders & helpers
(We noticed after last year that we still have too many Leaders sitting around campsites and not helping on any activity)

Our Bush Board that went missing has yet to be found and it looks as if it is now impossible to replace (we are half owners of them and Stradbroke Gilwell team are upset)

we will probably have cold nights and it could rain at any time.

So to wear, -  a waterproof top, with a hood or wide brimmed hat to keep off the rain

warm jumper(s)
shirts and t-shirts [enough in case some get wet]
long trousers [ - as above- ] , or shorts if it is hot
warm track pants for the evening
a beanie or similar would be useful at night
2 (two) pairs of shoes/runners
enough warm socks
enough underwear
something warm to sleep in
one complete set of OLD, scungy clothes to wear when going through the Challenge Valley course.

 include a pair of old shoes, even if holed AND a garbage bag to bring them home in. . 

two clothes hangers and a garbage bag as a clothes bag for your uniform WHICH YOU WILL WEAR TO AND FROM THE CAMP

For sleeping            - sleeping bag, blankets & smallish pillow, a lilo or camp stretcher to keep you insulated;

For eating               - knife, fork and spoon, plate and bowl, cup, two tea towels. All of these in a dilly bag

For keeping clean   - soap, toothbrush and paste, comb etc. TWO ordinary towels

Extras    - a torch with new or spare batteries, Pen and paper

        a backpack (to carry food and drink and any equipment needed)

You must have a helmet, long pants & a long sleeved top for BMX bikes and bush skateboards

You could get wet at both the canoeing and the rocket launching, so think ahead & BE PREPARED

For Canoeing- 

Shorts, T/Shirt, Woolen Jumper, Woolen Socks, Light Pair of Shoes & Light Rain Coat (optional Polyprolene Thermals, Lycra Top & Bike Shorts) No Jeans or Tracksuit Pants, Army Pants, Windcheater, Hike Boots or Gumboots
